UNITY PUBLISHING - Writing Camp #3

Following up on our intention to develop the publishing activities through Unity Publishing, we held our third writing camp this year, returning in one of the best locations of London, the Miloco Orinoco complex. The possibilities of this place allowed us to bring seven producers this year from December 6th to December 9th. Amongst this class of 2017 we had a few veterans that assisted to the three annual editions of the camp like Fabich and BCX for the producers, Raphaella for the singer-songwriter and even two engineers of Miloco – Billy Halliday and Sam Harper. We also had the pleasure to work with Nick Peters, Addal, Mozambo, Naxxos and Betical.

This 3 days’camp represent an organization six months in advance, we’re working to bring the best topliners / writers / singers to match each producer’s project universe. Every day was divided into two sessions of six hours in order to make most of the studio time and that all producers could experiment each studio.

If you want to learn more from our writing camp, you’ll find 2 videos of the first and second year camps on the Unity Publishing page of our website.

KLINGANDE Summer 2017

It’s been 5 years since the beginning of Klingande‘s project, each year spent between the studios and touring worldwide, peaked by a summer season that keeps getting crazier, as you can watch on his Summer 17 recap video below.

Beyond the great fun and team spirit, this act embodies our way of working and applying a long term vision to an artistic project. Finding the right partners to build a strong artist set-up, investing on a live show that evolves constantly, defining a booking and year schedule strategy are some of the keys priorities of our work.

That enables to create a tour that includes some of the best electronic festival of the world: North Summer Festival – Ushuaia Ibiza – Airbeat One – Sunrise Festival – Therme Festival – Parookaville – Tomorrowland – Summersound – Panama Festival – Zurich Open Air – SW4 London – Mysteryland – And More…

Right at the end of the summer tour, Klingande released his new single ‘Pumped Up‘ (the music of the summer recap), that will lead a series of  releases for the new season to come.

CARTE BLANCHE the playlist curated by Unity Group artists

We are excited to present you « Carte Blanche » a monthly takeover playlist hold by artists only. In French, Carte Blanche means to give complete freedom to act as one wishes. We believe it’s the perfect approach to discover an artist universe and his influences.

Each month you’ll be able to discover an updated playlist, we hope that it will help you to know better our artists while discovering some new music.

First Carte Blanche is given to German producer ‘Ferdinand Weber‘. For this selection he said “I combined some of my all time favorite club tunes with newer tracks I´m playing in my current sets. One thing is clear – it´s all about house music – it doesn’t matter if its deep/uk/french/tech…house, I´m searching for the special vibe.” Finally we topped that playlist with his latest release “I Don’t Need Nothing (featuring Ruby Francis)“.

Listen / Follow the « Carte Blanche » playlist on Spotify or Deezer.

NICK PETERS joins the roster

At only 17 years old, the promising producers Nick Peters already released several electro pop tracks which are counting millions of Spotify streams. The French Native from Tours joined Unity’s roster as a co-management with 2night management.

KLINGANDE came back to his hometown in a stadium

One very particular gig was part of Klingande’s worldwide summer tour, the first edition of the North Summer Festival. Unique for a lot of reasons, including that he was playing before the international star acts Martin Garrix and Justin Bieber, but also special because it was held in one of the biggest indoor venue in France, the Pierre Mauroy stadium, in Lille the hometown of the artist, where the first steps of his career begun.

This event was full of emotions for the artist and Unity Group’s team as it symbolizes the journey and work that has led Klingande from a bedroom producer to an international act, from a 500 people first gig to a 30 000 capacity stadium.

BETICAL - New French duo in the roster

Let’s go back to February 2016 when it all started. We received a Facebook inbox message from 2 French brothers called Max & Martin. We’re used to receive demos submissions through our social account but only a few keep our attention! As we are really into their future house production « Vibration » We’ve decided to give them the opportunity to do a remix for an upcoming release called « This Girl » from another act of the agency; Kungs. Their official remix count now 1,8 million views and is regularly broadcasted on BBC Radio 1 in the UK & Sirius XM in the US.

Betical has a lot more to come in 2017 with their housey vibe mixed with unique industrial sounds and aerial vocals.

Stay tuned !

KUNGS wins Best Electro album of the year !

Friday February 10th, two of the Unity artists were nominated at the French Grammys ceremony called “Les Victoires de la musique”.

KUNGS was nominated in the category “Best Electro album of the year” facing the legendaries Justice and Jean-Michel Jarre. The votes of all the professionals of the French music industry has decided to reward the 20 years old producer and his debut album LAYERS. After thanking his management team, he performed a medley of his album including his three singles: Don’t you Know, I Feel so bad and This Girl.

All the Unity family is proud of Valentin and to show the world that in souls nobly born, valour does not depend upon age.

We’re also very proud of our first Live act of the roster, BROKEN BACK, who was nominated as “best new live act of the year”. This gave him the opportunity to perform in prime time his single Halcyon Birds in a never seen new version.

Congrats to this two talents who are starting 2017 in a big way !

2016 year in review

We started the year 2016 with a lot of envy but to be honest a lot of doubts too. The roster has known some changes at the end of 2015 and it was really risky to tell how 2016 would turn to be.

The first song that came up in January was Miracle by Julian Perretta made with our talented producer and writer Clement BCX. The track quickly went up in the airplay and finally got #1 in the charts in France, Germany and Switzerland.

At the end of January, one of our upcoming acts was touring as warm-up on the 2nd part of David Guetta European Tour. Announcing a great beginning of the year, Kungs which was part of Unity Group roster for two years, was ready to get into the real business. On February 19th, he released his first single “This Girl”.

Chance is as we believe a mix between opportunities and preparation. In this case the Unity Group team has worked to prepare a good setup for Kungs to develop his music without any limit. The song quickly climbed the charts to become one of the biggest success of the year :

  • #1 Itunes general in 40 Countries
  • #1 Shazam global worldwide for 11 weeks
  • 14 Times Diamond record

The track became the most shazamed dance song of 2016 worldwide and the 2nd most shazamed song of the year global worldwide.

In march, one of our annual rendez-vous was Miami Music Week. This year edition was also something new as we had the opportunity to organize the first Klingande‘s Pool party at Delano hotel.

In Miami we came up with some other vibes of the roster, Fabich releasing One Two on the label of The Magician: Potion. Michael Calfan releasing Nobody does it better on Spinnin records and playing mainstage of Ultra festival for the 2nd year in a row.

Later this year we opened the Ibiza season with IMS 2016. Working closer to this magical Island every year, we had the pleasure to be part of the prestigious summer residencies with Klingande, Kungs and Michael Calfan. Playing Blue and Big at Ushuaia, My house and FMIF at Pacha, Cream at Amnesia.

Ushuaia Ibiza Big party 2016

The summer will also been completed by some of the most prestigious festival in the world, counting  Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza Berlin, Laundry Day Belgium, Electric Love Austria, Corona Sunset, Beyond Wonderland…

At the end of the summer we had a good time in Amsterdam at ADE, announcing the brand new identity of Unity Group with a new logo and website. We also revealed a new entity: Unity Publishing.

In the same month of October we moved from our old offices to the beautiful district of Vieux-Lille.  Getting more confortable, able to hire more people and welcome our artist and partner for meetings and celebration. Finally by the end of that month we celebrated the 5th Anniversary of the company, by bringing 9 artists of our roster for one night at ZigZag Paris.

Last week for our birthday ! 🎂 #unitygroup

The end of the year just got a step more intense with our first release of Albums.
Kungs first album, LAYERS was released on November 4th with an amazing release party at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the same place he used to stand in front one year before, to make his first photo shoot.

Two weeks later, on November 18th, Broken Back was releasing his debut album and starting his promo marathon.

In early December we held the 2nd edition of our Unity Publishing writing camp. Two times longer, with twice more producers, we really look forward to show you what was made over there.

We would like to thank all our artist family, our partners, the majors and labels we worked with, the promoters all around the world and the video makers,  for making 2016 such an intense year. We’re now taking a deserved holiday break, we’ll be back in 2017 for another year full of music surprises and less doubts 😉
